Grants and waivers will be attributed following several schemes, and progressively advertised. Please pay attention to any condition that can be related to a specific grant scheme.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
An application will only be accepted from a participant who:
- Is already pre-registered
- Has submitted at least one communication accepted by the session or symposium convenors.
- Each individual participant may apply only to one scheme (+ the case being scheme 4).
All applications must be sent to the organizing committee. It is at the committee’s discretion to award a grant from another Grant Scheme than the one applied for.

GRANT SCHEME 1 : International Union of Prehistoric and Protohistoric Sciences (CALL IS CLOSED)
Deadline extended to September 15th, 2025
Specific criteria:
- Priority is given to young scientists: doctoral candidates or early-career scholars within two years from the award of their PhD
- Ten type C or type D grants from this programme are reserved for young Indonesian scientists matching the aforementioned criteria.
The grant includes:
- UISPP membership fee (if the participant is not already member)
- Conference registration fees (including the food and travel to sites package, but excluding accommodation)
- Contribution to international/domestic transportation (maximum amount), which will be reimbursed(*) to the participant upon presentation of receipts (**).
This contribution is linked to the point-to-point distance between airport of departure (closest to city of residence) and Jakarta international airport.
- Long haul flight, more than 8000 km 750 € (type A)
- Between 4000 and 8000 km 550 € (type B)
- Between 2000 and 4000 km 350 € (type C)
- Less than 2000 km 200 € (type D)
Available Grants, estimate assuming a balanced distribution of bursary types: c. 30 grants
(*) Under exceptional circumstances only, (please explain the reasons in the form) the contribution can be transferred to the participant in advance or a ticket (maximum price as specified) directly purchased by the committee.
(**) For participants who are members of an institution (e.g. docents, researchers, funded PhD students), an institutional certificate confirming that they do not receive financial help for their participation may be required.
GRANT SCHEME 2: Wenner Gren Foundation (CLOSES OCTOBER 1) ---Late applications will only be considered for the waiting list
Specific criterion:
- Quality of the contribution to the conference’s scientific outcomes
The grant includes:
- UISPP membership fee (if the participant is not already member)
- Conference registration fees (including the food and transportation to sites package, but excluding accommodation)
- Contribution to international/domestic transportation (maximum amount), which will be reimbursed(*) to the participant upon presentation of receipts (**).
This contribution is linked with the point-to-point distance between airport of departure (closest to city of residence) and Jakarta international airport.

- Conference registration fees (including the food and transportation to sites package)
- Contribution to international/domestic transportation (maximum amount), which will be reimbursed(*) to the participant upon presentation of receipts (**).

A limited number of rooms, either
• in budget hotel (double, twin and twin sharing)
• or in Kartini campus student dormitory (sharing basis only)
will be attributed free by the organizing committee. Rooms will be attributed several weeks before the conference, but date of application will be taken into account.
