The cervid antler comes from the Lower Lahar of the Sangiran Dome (Central Java), dated between 1.7 and 1.9 million years. As such, it represents the earliest colonization of freshly emerged lands in the area. The fossil* is pictured here besides a resembling tree growing in front of a traditional Javanese house in Sangiran, symbolizing the link between past and present heritage.
