Hoabinhian is a unique and distinctive prehistoric techno-complex that existed in the Southeast Asia region. Interregional linkages and comparative characteristics of technology, subsistence, environment, and population are key to understanding this culture that persisted from the Late Pleistocene to the Early Holocene. Since its first discovery, numerous studies have been conducted on Hoabinhian material culture entities and populations. Increasing radiometric dating obtained from prehistoric sites with Hoabinhian cultural entities has gradually confirmed its origin and chronological existence in the Southeast Asian region. Unraveling key patterns of Hoabinhian culture can significantly contribute to our understanding of the evolutionary and adaptation pattern of the prehistoric population of Mainland and Insular Southeast Asia during the Late Pleistocene to the Early Holocene. Therefore, it is necessary to bring the current state and debates on Hoabinhian to the global scientific forum, such as UISPP.
